My Own Way

I do it my own way, don’t have to confide in you -

Listen to my own music, rock, blues, both I choose -

I dance my own way, not gonna step on your foot -

I pick my own beer, Asahi, Heineken, both I want -

Why don’t you call me? Huh! I don’t ask that -

Cause I’ve already known the answer -

The moon shines before the stars - can’t afford to make a wish -

Water in the river, no return, but the tides keep coming back -

I’m no shell in the sea, can’t bring the sound of the tides back -

Just leaning on the beach, try not to think the kiss -

I do it on my own - no unforeseen disillusionment -

Exposing my incompletion, ignorance, dumbness, both unacceptable -

                   I learn what I want ain’t afraid I’ll miss coffee time -

I make my own sweet friends, hotties, weirdos, both I like -

Why don’t you think of me? Huh! I don’t ask that -

Cause I’ve already known the answer -

Midnight falls before dawn, not the early bird catches the worm -

Sunset after sunrise, can’t catch the shadow one minute -

                   I’m so tiny, don’t know nothing -

Just damn know how to play a part in the ocean -

                    Why don’t you think of me, I don’t ask that, and I won’t -

Cause I’ve seen the answer in my dreams
